Cold water, early starts, and people doing hard things outdoors. I've photographed open water swimmers, ice milers, runners and athletes in conditions most photographers would rather watch from the car. I've swum an ice mile myself, which mainly means I know when someone's had enough and it's time to stop asking for one more frame.
My work in this area has been published in The Guardian, BBC Wildlife and Outdoor Swimmer, and won Best Cover at
the European Publishing Awards in 2023. I work with events, clubs, brands and individual athletes across the UK.
